A Call to Seek for a Heart filled with a Passion for Souls
Between the majesty of Heaven and a humble and contrite heart there are no barriers; we are encouraged to come to the throne of God and make our requests known.
For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
I’m discovering my greatest need is to hear the whisper of the Holy Spirit as He gives me mercy and grace to share the Gospel with freedom and boldness. The need I have is to be a more effective witness by demonstrating love with mercy and sharing truth with grace.
Life is not about me; it is all about accepting the call to share Christ with others: The Great Commission which flows out of the Great Commandment – a fisher of men and women.
Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land. Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Psalm 85:9-11
God waits for us to approach Him without fear or reservation. He grants us freedom in speaking. When we read the Psalms, especially those of David, we see the honesty and integrity of a heart seeking God and the heart of God seeking a man. It is a powerful moment when the desires of the heart of man is in total obedience and submission to the desires of the heart of God. This is the moment our hearts are renewed and filled with the fire of the presence of God. We burn from within, but are not consumed. This is my desire and the cry of my heart at this moment – I want to see His glory fill all the earth. I desire to see people accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:6
Fear hinders many from sharing Jesus. As my heart burns with a passion for God, I have become keenly aware of those around me. I see and know many souls with many needs. My heart burns to witness to them. Please pray God will fill my heart with the power of the Holy Spirit and that I will live to see many souls saved and lives changed in the days ahead.
