Finding a Spiritual Retreat is a Delightful Opportunity
Prayer is the purposeful withdrawing from the world to seek the unfathomable riches of the love, mercy and grace of God through the divine blessing of the Holy Spirit. Prayer is a chosen, delightful act of worship in loving obedience for the one who is a surrendered servant to the God of grace. To know God as our Father who acts through Jesus Christ with the empowerment of the Holy Spirit enables us to walk in obedience to Him. Prayerful response to the Almighty who listens and acts on the behalf of our seeking soul involves the total commitment of the whole man; in this manner, we present our strength, heart, soul and mind as a sacrifice of worship, holy and acceptable to the Lord of glory. In quite reflection, waiting patiently in the presence of God, in treasured moments, we begin to gain greater eternal insight, spiritual knowledge and divine wisdom as we lift up holy hands with a pure heart and offer the sacrifices of praise with our lips to the Holy One of all the earth. It is a delight and joy to the Lord when we set aside dedicated time to commune with Him. His reward will be His presence and anointing upon our life. Please take time to pray.
If we spend very much time in the Book of Psalms, we discover David, a man after God’s own heart, was a man of prayer. Three Psalms is sequence give us a small glimpse of how David prayed. I selected three I was reading in my time of reflection and meditation. They are Psalms 141, 142 and 143.
Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications! Answer me in Your faithfulness, in Your righteousness! And do not enter into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight no man living is righteous. Psalm 141:1-2
I cry aloud with my voice to the LORD; I make supplication with my voice to the LORD. I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare my trouble before Him. When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, You knew my path. Psalm 142:1-3a
Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come to You. Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my trouble; incline Your ear to me; in the day that I call, answer me speedily. Psalm 143:1-2
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD… JEREMIAH 29:11-14
