This picture is one of bravery, courage, commitment and dedication. It represents protecting a Nation above all else including your own very life. It embodies the very core of our USA Constitution, “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.” These are the answers of Man which are rooted in the very fiber of yourself and what faith you listen to.
Challenges posed by man are usually based on self interest, political position or even social interaction. Today many of these challenges have become conflicting persuasions involving simple Christian values such family, marriage, education, work, respect and love. These are obstacles unseen in the normal pathways of combat as defined at “Iwo Jima.” However, these persuasions represent the last evil bastion before “The Gathering, of Believers.”
When I say “Look to God and not to man,” it is with the sincerest appreciation for our soldiers who understand a manly challenge above their own lives. Therefore, soldiers understand a greater cause and are an excellent example of how to sacrifice. Moreover, we as Christians must be soldiers ready to sacrifice for Godly things now as never before. Let us not forget “The Battle of David and Goliath.” Ungodly, actions of evil done against our Lord or Godly actions of good done for our Lord rule us unseen as the German’s phrase it “Uber Alles,”
Now is the time to focus on Unity. Now is the time for Christians to “Gather Together,” in many formats including homes, churches, rallies, media and groups. Most importantly, now is the time to drop all that separates us for the purposes of John 17. Let us pray together the Last prayer of Jesus and step forward raising the cross as our soldiers raised the flag at “Iwo Jima.”
