April 3, 2018 – Please pray for Guinea
Guinea is located on the western coast of Africa. Formerly known as French Guinea, the modern country is sometimes referred to as Guinea-Conakry in order to distinguish it from other countries with “Guinea” in the name, such as Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea. Guinea shares its northern border with Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, and Mali, and its southern border with Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Ivory Coast.
Guinea has a population of 12.4 million and is a predominantly Islamic country, with Muslims representing 85 percent of the population. The literacy rate of Guinea is one of the lowest in the world.
The population of Guinea is approximately 85 percent Muslim, 8 percent Christian, with 7 percent adhering to indigenous religious beliefs. Many incorporate indigenous African beliefs into their religion.
This information was gathered from en.wikipedia.org and may not be accurate but helps our understanding of this nation.
I have been neglectful due to time constraints to post a request for prayer for the nations. Please pray for Guinea. Women are abused and education is not highly valued. As with many nations, Jesus is the answer to this nation’s problems.
1. Pray for the youth of Guinea. Most children do not attend school very long or at all. Guinea has one of the highest child marriage rates in the world. Please pray for these curses to be broken.
2. Pray for religious oppression to be broken in Guinea and the surrounding nations.
3. Pray for the truth of the Gospel to be shared and that many will become followers of Jesus. We know He cares for them.
