Here are 5 Points Lisa wants known about her:

1. I got involved in politics back in 1992, but most people thought things were not as bad as they were clearly heading; so I gave up trying to warn them.  I was busy with my own life; but that did not last for long, because a bad Gov’t eventually invades your life.  They did that during COVID when my health condition made it impossible for me to conform to what they required.  So I got involved again.

2. I found out the people I had elected locally were not good, because I did not know who they actually were.  Signs & ads do not tell you the truth about who a person is.  And it’s the local elections that invade our lives more than Federal. Then I found out that even when I went door to door to try to get some good people elected, only about 13% of our registered voters actually vote locally.  Which means all those in power need is for us to stay home & not vote; & they win every local election by having their people show up.

3. I started Lemons To Lemonade to reach out to everyday people by giving away free lemonade & letting them know who the people running for office are, by letting them know how they vote on different issues; & also by letting them know where they could go to ask the candidates their own questions.  This way they can make a more informed choice.  I have been asked to put the information I give out at those events online; so those events are paused until next year, while I am doing that, & due to my helper, Debra Barker, recently having her daughter pass away.

4. While gathering information for Lemons To Lemonade, I encountered the Constitutional teaching of Kris Anne Hall.  I wanted others to hear her classes, thus Tru History Academy was formed.  We have Constitution classes the first 3 Sunday Nights at 6PM at Godfather’s in Springfield; & then a movie on the last Sunday.  We are just now finishing up Hillsdale College’s Constitution 201 courses, & will return to Kris Anne Hall’s classes after that.  I also provide a ZOOM link on FB for those who can’t attend in person; & we replay the classes on Tuesdays at NOON on ZOOM for those who can’t do Sundays.

5. In September, I went to the Cultural Impact Conference in Ozark to learn what could be done to stop Amendment 3.  For me, ending abortion should be our top priority.  My Mom was told she would not live if she had me; but she bravely chose to let me live; & I was the only one of her 5 kids who took care of her when she was dying.  You do not know who the child being killed will become; & I have always felt I can not be silent when I lucked out, but there are others not so lucky.

At the Conference, Kathy Forck spoke about the prayer vigils being put on by 40 Days For Life.  She listed off the cities still needing a vigil leader, & Springfield was 1 of them.  I went to her table, hoping I could just help out whoever stepped up to lead one; but no one had.  So I stepped into that role, & had 2 weeks to organize the next prayer vigil – which was September 25 – November 3.  We had a wonderful presence there in front of Planned Parenthood; & very few disruptions.  Unfortunately, we did not get enough people to see the immorality of Amend 3, & that just went into effect for our state.  The day after it passed, Planned Parenthood filed a lawsuit to remove the laws they said in there ads would “protect the women”.  No more making sure they are sanitary, anyone – not just Drs – can perform the abortions & the woman can’t sue if anything happens to her during the procedure.  It is currently pending in the Courts.  If they win; they plan to start performing abortions in Springfield, so it will not be just a referral center anymore.

Our next vigil will be March 5 – April 13 in front of the Planned Parenthood in Springfield.  We will have a sign up event in February(details still to come); but in the mean time, if anyone wants more information, they can learn about 40 Days For Life at 40DaysforLife.com   As of right now, the Springfield sign up calendar is not online yet.  It may be up by the time we talk.
